About me

I'm Noopur, an illustrator and surface pattern designer based in England. I'm deeply inspired by the vibrant global culture and everyday beauty of the nature. Growing up surrounded by the intricate patterns and vivid colours of India, I've always found magic in the ordinary.

I began my career in India as an in-house textile designer at a large soft furnishing company where I created art for a variety of home furnishing products serving global manufacturers and retailers. After moving to UK I started my own studio in Manchester to provide illustrations and surface pattern designs. My cutesy style and use of bright colours quickly won me work from business ranging from children’s books, wall art and gifts to tableware, storage and home décor.

In my website and Etsy shop , you'll discover a unique blend of East and West celebrating the fusion of traditional Indian motifs with contemporary aesthetics.

Most of my work starts with a pencil sketch and then rendered on the procreate or Adobe Photoshop. I use a lot of traditional sketching and painting skills to help influence my digital work. My rich experience of working with in textiles industry brings a lot of textures, patterns and embroidery details to my illustrations. If I wasn’t an illustrator, I would definitely have been a baker and confectioner
